We Build The Option
We abolish poverty simply by creating the option to do so.
We see an engineering problem.
We are the first people in history who can code their economy.
Given the option, we believe any free and healthy society would quickly replace poverty with something more satisfying.
Modern societies have abolished slavery, child labor, inherited debt, and other anti-social economic technologies. Historically, some societies even abolished debt, or made indebting each other unprofitable.
Unfortunately, we replaced those technologies with "poverty". Poverty's innovation over slavery is to make people disposable. That is a big problem in an economy focused on disposable consumerism - more so in a "gig economy" focused on automation.
It's not ok to throw you or anyone else away.

Living modestly in consumer culture isn't easy - but it can be very satisfying. Yet, we must still fear the desparate, isolate to ignore their suffering, and maybe make #FirstWorldProblems jokes out of survivor guilt.
